National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I), 2012

An Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 15th April, 2012 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 129th Course, and for the 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from December 2012. The candidates Joining Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B.Tech Course and would be given an opportunity to join Executive and
Technical Branches of the Navy subject to availability of vacancies.

The approximate number of vacancies to be filled on the results of this examination will be 335 [(195 for the Army, 39 for Navy, 66 for the Air Force and 35 for Indian Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme)]. Vacancies are provisional and may be changed depending on the availability of training capacity of National Defence Academy.

The average of a given number of quantities of the same kind is expressed as

                                Average = Sum of the quantities/Number of the quantities

Average is also called the Arithmetic Mean.

Also, Sum of the quantities = Average × Number of the quantities

                                Number of quantities = Sumof the quantities/Average

If all the given quantities have the same value, then the number itself is the average.

  2. Introducced silver "Tankk'(175 grains) & 'Jital' two principal coins.
  3. Completed the construction of Qutab Minar.
  4. Created 'Turkan-i-Chanhalagani' a selected body of Trukish nobles.
  5. Coming of Mongols under the leadership of Changiz Khan to the frontiers of India91220 AD)
  6. Indroduced Iqta System in administration.
  7. Declared Rajiya as his heir apparent.

Ghiasuddin Balban

  1. Consolidator of the Sultanate of Delhi.
  2. First Sultan to put forward his views about Kingship according to which the king was the shadow of God title Nvabat-i-khudui and inscribed –zillah on coins .
  3. Created a separate military department (Diwan-i-Ariz) and appointed Kotwal.
  4. Regulated court ceremonial after Persian mode, introduced Sijda ) prostration) Paibok 9 Kissing the monarach's feet) and celebration of Persian 'Nauroz'. (New year day)
  5. Destroyed the 'group of forty' or chahalgani.
  6. Belonged to the Ilbari tribe.
  7. Adopted the policy of 'Blood and Iron' in governance
  8. Claimed himself the descendant of Persian ruler. Afrasiyab.
