'Super-25' to coach poor UPSC aspirants

Now money will not come in the way of Bihar's meritorious, but poor students to crack country's toughest test, Civil Services examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

In line with Bihar's famous Super 30 initiative where students are coached free of cost to crack IIT-JEE, a unique 'Super-25' initiative will be launched next month. Under 'Super-25', poor meritorious Bihari UPSC candidates will be given free quality coaching and lodging arrangements to help them crack UPSC.

COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICES EXAMINATION (I), 2012

About The Examination:
Common Defence Service Test is the path to join the nation's Defence forces. Combined Defence Service exam is conducted by UPSC twice every year for recruitment to office cadre of the Army, Navy and Air force. CDS exam is conducted generally in the months of May and October.

Candidates qualifying the written test are interviewed by the Service Selection Board and if finally selected, depending upon the choice given by the candidates and their merit list ranking, are sent to one of the following institutes for orientation training:-
(a) Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun
(b) Naval Academy, Goa
(c) Air Force Academy, Begumpet, Hyderabad
(d) Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai

Those joining the first three institutes get permanent commission, however cadets passing out of OTA get short service commission. Applicants are required to mention their preferences while filling up the application forms. A Combined Defence Services Examination will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission on 12th February, 2012.

Vacancy Details:

Post Name: Assistant Engineer (Civil)

Pay Scale: (PB-4) Rs.9,000/- to 40,500/- + G.P. Rs. 5,400/-. Gross emoluments at the entry level : Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Qualifications:

Essential :

Desirable : One year's Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience.
